 Sweeping the roof with a bleach solution will take care of unwanted plant life and dirt. You must be very careful with either method of roof cleaning. Remember that shingles become very slippery when wet. Plan the task so you are always standing on a dry section while working on an area below you on the slope. Allow the roof sections to dry before walking on them. Compare the area you are cleaning with a section that is already in good condition to make sure you are not damaging the shingles as you go.
