His company and the crew he has working for him are THAT GOOD!! If there was a 10 star rating I'd give it to him. His company not only replaced our roof today, but in the past, had made repairs to our old roof . We live in a development in Ashburn where many roofs are degrading prematurely and the houses were built in 1998. Whenever we've had a problem in the past with blown off shingles, we'd call Ken and he'd come out, do an inspection, and repair our roof. This summer we decided to replace our roof and use Ken's company. He's honest, been a roofer for almost 40 years, knows the business inside and out and makes excellent recommendations. He'll explain everything you want to know about a roof and repair/replacement in a way that everyone can understand, and he uses 6 nails per shingle! Our roof was completed in the same day and all debris hauled away. His crew used a magnetic nail sweeper over our entire yard. Utilizing Yahoo! Yellow Pages, my work phone, and a lot of luck, I stumbled upon Ken's business after many unreturned phone calls to other roof repair companies. From my initial call to Ken, to his final follow-up visit which he was in no way obligated to make, Ken and his crew were first class, first rate, on time, professional, and a pleasure to work with. Even more surprising was the fact that Ken and his team genuinely care about the quality of work they provide which was evident in the number of follow-up phone calls I received ensuring I felt comfortable and satisfied with the roofing repair. One, which I choose not to name, wanted an upfront fee (and mostly non-refundable deposit) of $175 simply to look at the damage before even providing an estimate. So, imagine our happiness when Ken came by and e-mailed me a detailed estimate, including cost itemization and photographs. He was ready to do the work almost immediately. The work involved replacing a couple of loose shingles and some siding. After communicating with Ken over the course of a week, which was needed to confirm his estimate and add some add'l work, we signed and e-mailed the contract; the work was completed the next day. I will add that Ken's crew found some additional problems (areas I missed) and fixed them AT NO EXTRA CHARGE. A couple of days later, Ken came by and he not only showed me the repaired areas, but offered info on the roof's condition and suggestions for maintaining it. The only suggestion I have is perhaps having either Ken or the foreman to review the proposal and roofing procedures item by item once the job is complete.
