Roofing Repair Costs

Roofing repair costs can involve a lot more than the labor and materials for the actual roof. We have a customer with a 100 year old house in a part of the state where there is a lot of rain that gets dumped in the region due to its proximity to mountain foothills.

This homeowner started having a lot of problems with water leaking through the ceiling on her second floor. She had to replace the drywall in 2 bedrooms and the hallway before she called us for a permanent solution.

This lady has a metal roof on her home that was there when she bought the house 25 years earlier. A roof like this is almost indestructible, but with all the high winds and storms eventually the metal roof screws started to loosen up. Think about it – hundreds of tiny holes in the metal were allowing buckets of rain to enter the attic every time there was even a minor storm.

Then she discovered a serious rot problem in the ceiling in her front entrance from roof leaks. Sealing over the seams and screws with roofing compound was not working. We ended up taking the entire metal roof off the house and applying a highly adhesive peel and stick type of waterproof skin over the entire roof. Then we replaced the metal using the same screw holes.

Yes, it was a big job and she was not expecting to pay that much all at once, but in the end she saved money on her roofing repair costs.
